Every Minute Counts Virtual Challenge Benefiting EBC!
Count every minute of fitness during the month of April, connect with friends virtually and benefit EBC in our effort to keep providing crucial services for children living in poverty or crisis.
Challenge yourself to see how many minutes of exercise you can complete during April 2020!
During this unprecedented time of school closings, business closings, and stay-at-home orders in many areas hard hit with COVID-19, we found that many of our friends, volunteers and supporters were seeking out ways to manage stress, motivate the kids to exercise and connect with others. To address these challenging issues, we created the Every Minute Counts Virtual Fitness Challenge to see who can exercise the most minutes during April. Walking, running, yoga, weight lifting, jump rope - almost anything counts! You can participate as part of a team or as an individual. Spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Let's work together to keep moving through this crisis!
Also, this contest will help raise money for Eastside Baby Corner as we provide crucial support to children in normal times and in these challenging times. The number of families who need basics to care for their children will be increasing as time goes by. Thousands of people, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck, are already losing their jobs or experiencing reduced hours in response to social distancing measures.
How it works
You track minutes for running, walking, yoga, fitness videos, or whatever you do to keep you moving using the RaceDay interface by RaceMenu.
iPhone users use the RaceMenu Raceday iOS mobile app (which you can download from the App Store)
Desktop computer or non-iPhone mobile users use the site racemenu.com/raceday.
You'll have four days to log each daily activity. For example, you have until 11:59 pm on April 5 to log your April 1st activity, or until 11:59 pm on April 20 to record your April 16th activity. If you miss the 4-day deadline, you're out of the challenge. We'll email and post on Facebook detailed instructions prior to the challenge starting.
It's okay to be a little competitive if it helps you stay motivated! Check the leaderboards on RaceDay daily to follow your friends' progress and track your team's results. At the end of the contest, we'll have awards for most minutes recorded by an individual and as a team. We'll also give a prize for most average team minutes. Plus, many more prizes to be announced!
