That’s right! Our fleet is growing, and who better to help us out than the fleet experts themselves, Amazon!

Earlier this year, EBC Board Member Susan Corning (Senior Programs Manager at Amazon) invited Pearl Leung (Head of Community Affairs- Bellevue) to take a tour of our Central Hub here in Issaquah to learn more about our organization and see first hand how we are able to keep up with the need of essential goods for our growing reach in the community.

What was impressive for Pearl was “how the whole operation was set up to provide goods in the most dignified, thoughtful ways…” EBC provides assistance in 5 counties, and when Pearl learned this, she knew we needed to get more wheels on the ground. Thanks to Amazon, we now have a 2nd van that will help us transport and deliver essential goods from our 4 Hubs in Shoreline, Issaquah, Kent, and Bremerton.

To celebrate the continued advocacy for children in our communities, we were joined by Councilmember Sarah Perry of the King County Council, Council Member Russell Joe of City of Issaquah, EBC Core Volunteers, Staff, and Board Members to unveil “Kids Van 2”!

This van will help make sure that children get what they need, when they need it, providing smiles for miles!
